League of Legends recently announced the latest champion to join the game, dubbed Gwen. Gwen’s story is among the most fascinating of all the characters in the game. Today, March 26, Riot Games has officially revealed the newest League of Legends champion, Gwen: The Hallowed Seamstress. In January, Viego had teased the new champion. Gwen is armed with a massive pair of scissors as well as harrowing capabilities to take on other champions in Summoners Rift. According to previous developer announcements, the champion is slated for the top lane. She is believed to be a close-range fighter like Fiora.


Gwen’s background story


In Gwen’s trailer for the reveal and other lore, Isolde, the wife of Viego made an imaginary doll. Isolde was later killed with a pinioned knife that was intended to be used to kill Viego. Consequently, the Ruined King became obsessed trying to revive his beloved. The doll was then submerged into the ocean, lost to time to the sorrow of her creator’s demise. After some time the doll was revived and reincarnated as Gwen, a powerful living doll sporting an enormous pair of scissors in search of find her dark history.


Gwen, the League of Legends New Champion

League of Legends has not yet revealed a release date, but it is likely that the hero will be released very soon. The League of Legends official website has also revealed that the hero will be unveiled within the game after update 11.7 when it is released. Gwen is a melee-type character that uses large scissors as her weapon. There are four active abilities, and one passive ability. She has total 5 abilities. Gwen Abilities


Passive – Thousand Cuts


Gwen’s fundamental attack deal bonus damage on hit. This is based on a percentage her health. Basic attacks against champions help her heal for a portion of the damage dealt.


Snip Snip!


Gwen swiftly snips her blade between 2 to 6 times, causing magic damage in the cone. Gwen will only snip twice and add one snip to each basic attack Gwen has made on an opponent. (Up up to four for a total six). The person in the middle of each snip is hit with real damage, as well as the bonus damage from Thousand Cuts. Hallowed-Mist


Gwen spins around the Hallowed Mist that surrounds her for 5 seconds, while gaining armor and magical resistance while within it. Gwen can’t be injured or attacked by any enemies that are not in the Mist. Gwen will be followed by the mist first time she attempts to leave, but will disappear after the second attempt.


Skin N Slash


Gwen runs a small distance, but she can boost her attacks with increased speed, range and damage on hit for four seconds. Attacking an enemy during this time will pay back 50% of the ability’s cooling time.


Needlework


Gwen is able to use Needlework three times, however she you must knock down an opponent within eight seconds in order to activate the next cast. Each cast will fire needles along a path that can be used to create magic and slow enemies. Additionally, it will apply Gwen’s Thousand Cuts bonus damage that is magical. The first cast fires one needle, the next will fire three and the final cast will be firing five needles, resulting in a total of nine needles and nine applications of Thousand Cuts to the enemies that are hit.
